MATE Egypt ROV competition is an annual regional competition held in the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) for the interested undergrads in the remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROV). As the ROVs perform specific underwater missions according to the rules and the competition guidelines. The competition was firstly launched in 2011 by Delta Square International LLC in association with AASTMT.
Compeition Category
Explorer Category
The EXPLORER class is our advanced level and is recommended for universities, colleges and high schools that have previously participated in the MATE ROV Competition. EXPLORER class teams must create a complex vehicle and have a deep understanding of electronics, electricity, sensors, waterproofing canisters, and other technology.
Ranger category
The RANGER class is recommended for middle and high school students with robotics experience. RANGER class teams should have a good understanding of robotic systems and electricity. Some knowledge of electronics, sensors and waterproofing is helpful. If you have experience in land-based robotics competitions, starting out in the RANGER class could be an option.
world championship
The MATE ROV Competition World Championsh uses underwater robotics (aka remotely operated vehicles or ROVs) to inspire and challenge students to learn and creatively apply scientific, engineering, and technical skills to solving real-world problems. This competition challenges K-12, community college, and university students from all over the world to tackle missions based on scenarios from the workplace, encouraging students to work together, network, and learn from technical professionals and each other.
